French Diving Helmet Clock
French Diving Helmet clock from the industrial clock series. This wonderful novelty clock is made of solid brass that has been silver plated. The condition is very good with the majority of the original silver plating still intact. The eight day duration clock is front and center with an engraved chapter ring with roman numerals. The right side of the helmet is fitted with an aneroid barometer. The left side of the helmet is a thermometer with the original circular glass tube. The very top of the clock is finished with a compass. The winding knob is located just behind the barometer. The helmet itself sits upon a black marble base with silver plated feet. This clock is one of the industrial series of clocks that included trains, steam engines, and lighthouses to name a few. This is a very special clock that is not seen every day. 8 1/2" H x 6 1/4" W
German Oak Miniature Dial Clock
German Solid Oak 11" miniature dial clock. This eight day duration wall clock was made to compete with the larger English fusee gallery clocks. The brass pendulum mechanism has a going barrel and is a timepiece only. The painted dial with black roman numerals is signed Camerer Kuss & Co. 56 New Oxford Street London. An easy to read clock that would go well in any room. 11" D
Two Day Chronometer by Henry Hughes & Sons, LTD
A very nice chronometer housed in a brass banded mahogany box with brass corner mounts. The box is fitted with two flush brass handles. The silvered dial with roman numerals has an up/down indicator below 12:00 and a secondary seconds above 6:00. In the seconds dial is engraved #7719. The dial is engraved H. Hughes & Sons 56 Fenchurch St. London. The button to release the top of the box has a starburst brass inlay and a matching one for the lower box key. The brass piano hinges allow for opening and closing the lids. The brass bowl to house the mechanism is on gimbals to allow it to stay level while at sea. Chronometers are some of the most accurate spring driven timepieces made. 8" H x 7 1/4" W
Rosewood & Mother of Pearl Barometer signed Gobbi
This oversized mercury wheel barometer has a silvered dial with a brass set knob and blued steel indicator hands. The set hand is manipulated by the ivory knob at the base and is to be set daily to the current pressure reading. This allows one to see how the pressure has changed from day to day. There is a thermometer in the throat of the barometer as well. This classic form of barometer in rosewood is decorated in a lace like fashion with mother of pearl inlay, as well as brass and abalone shell marquetry. A nice example for a commanding presence. 43" H x 15" W
A set of six professionally framed Celestial Maps
This set of six celestial maps: Hartford, Published By F.J. Huntington 1835. Entered according to Act of Congress Sept. 1st 1832 By F.J. Huntington, of the State of Connecticut. Under each map: Engraved By W.G. Evans New York under the direction of E.H. Burritt. Each was professionally recolored and are framed in black and distressed gold leaf. Print size 22 3/4" H x 21 1/2" W
Miniature Timepiece Vienna Regulator
A high quality small size spring driven eight day duration wall clock has a two piece porcelain dial with black roman numerals. The center of the oversized brass pendulum bob is inset with a porcelain disc with the letters R A, which refers to retard and advance. This disc indicates which direction to turn the regulation nut at the bottom of the pendulum to correct the accuracy of the clock. The pierced blued steel Serpentine hands are typical of Vienna regulators. The wood is most likely walnut. The arch shaped door is accented with four wood finials on chimneys with applied moldings. There are two wood finials on the top of the case and three wood finials on the bottom. The mechanism can be viewed through the two glass side panels. A very nice example of a tiny version of this style clock.

C1900 Unusual French Hanging Clock
A miniature brass and silver plated wall clock with the original cylinder platform escapement. This clock was made for export as the two piece dial bears the name of the retailer “Janetti Padre & Figli” who were Italian silversmiths. A most unique feature is the garnet colored glass side inserts which bear the official Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom of Great Britain. Under the shield is the motto “Dieu Et Mon Droit”. This French phrase translates literally to “God and My Right” and is also quoted as “God and My Right Shall Me Defend”. The left of the shield is supported by the English Lion and the right is supported by the Unicorn of Scotland. The 2 1/2” silvered chapter ring with black Roman numerals surrounds a decorative gilt matte finished center. The spade hands are made of blued steel. The front bezel is fitted with a heavy beveled round glass. The brass hanging bracket slides back into the case.

C1950 Smiths English Clocks Ltd Lantern Clock
A very well made replica of an English Lantern clock that was made in the 1600's. Constructed of solid brass throughout with three decorative dolphin frets at the top surrounding a brass bell. The clock is signed on the dial “Salem 8 Day” and “Made in Great Britain”. The mechanism is signed “Smiths English Clocks Ltd”. The high quality brass mechanism is a timepiece only and requires winding once a week. The nicely engraved dial has a silvered and engraved chapter ring with Roman numerals and black hands. The clock has been restored and will obtain a nice patina as it ages. Smiths were known as a high quality maker of fine clocks.

A very nice quality French Carriage Clock housed in a Boite Jonc style case. The 8 day duration mechanism strikes a gong on the hour and the half and is fitted with a repeat button at the top of the case. This clock has a silvered lever platform. It has the additional feature of an alarm mechanism. The matte brass mask surrounds a white chapter ring with painted inset Arabic numerals. The center of the chapter ring has a decorative filigree medallion. The chapter ring is signed by the retailer Shreve, Crump & Low, a renowned jeweler. There is a subsidiary alarm dial at the bottom of the dial. The hands are made of blued steel.

C1830 French Carriage Clock by Grohe Paris
A fine one piece case gilt carriage clock signed Grohe/Paris on back plate. The 8 day duration mechanism strikes a bell on the hour and the half and has a
button for repeat at the top of the case. The rectangular porcelain dial has black Roman numerals. The case is fitted with beveled glasses on all sides as well as the top to gaze upon a brushed brass jeweled platform lever escapement. The bottom of the case is numbered #819 but there is no matching number on the mechanism. This is a carriage clock of the highest quality in a case that lost favor due to the difficulty in manufacturing and polishing this style.

C1960 Smiths Banjo Clock
A nice miniature replica of an American banjo clock made by Smiths in Great Britain. This clock has an 8 day duration 4 jewel spring driven mechanism. The 5” painted dial has black Roman numerals and is signed by the maker. Brass side arms draw attention to the fine reverse painted glass in the throat. The bottom of the case has gilded roping surrounding the nautical motif of the bottom glass. The clock sits on an attached bracket. The top of the clock is finished with a heavy brass eagle finial.

C1919 Chelsea Bronze “Empire 1” Mantle Clock
This substantially made clock was made by Chelsea Clock Company and retailed by the exclusive jeweler Grogan Company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The serial #133296 on both the mechanism and case shows that it was made in 1919. The case is solid bronze and is quite heavy and fitted with oval frets on the sides. This model was first advertised by Chelsea in 1917. The mechanism is one of the early models with English set jewels. The 8 day duration mechanism is a house strike as opposed to the popular ships strike that Chelsea is known for. The 4 1/2” dial is the special version with raised attached Arabic numerals. The dial is signed Grogan Company Pittsburgh under 12:00 and also signed Chelsea above 6:00. The regulator is above 12:00 and is finished with Serpentine style hands.
